HIT is one of the key assets of HPH Trust. It was established in 1969 and was diversified from the century-old Hong Kong & Whampoa Dock Company. HIT moved into new facilities at Terminal 4 of Kwai Tsing Port in 1976. Today, HIT operates 12 berths at Terminals 4, 6, 7 and 9 North which have depths alongside of 14.2 to 15.5 metres and the capability to handle the largest container ships.
HIT leads the way in the development of the port's resources, facilities and workforce to ensure the smooth and efficient handling of container cargoes.
At the heart of HIT's operations is its state-of-the-art terminal management system – nGen. This system is adaptable to different terminals regardless of size and volume, to ensure the world's shipping lines receive world-class service.
